Awarapan heroine turned away from Sivaji!

This story really takes the cake for being the most hilarious. South star Shriya Saran, the leading lady opposite superstar Rajnikanth in the Tamil blockbuster Sivaji - The Boss, did not get tickets in Chennai to watch her own film!

The 25-year old cutie was to keen to watch the film with Rajni fans but got lost in the stampede and with people recognising her things grew worse. When a friend and her finally managed to reach the ticket window, the staff recognised and acknowledged Shriya, but respectfully told her, "Sorry ma'm, no tickets available for your film!"

Shriya did not know whether to feel ecstatic at the stupendous response or disappointed at not being able to watch the film with the hardcore audience.

It seems she has decided to watch Sivaji at a cinema in Mumbai next week when she comes down to promote her latest Bollywood flick, Awarapan, which releases worldwide on 29th June.

Awarapan director to let his hair loose!

Director Mohit Suri is one relieved man. He has finally completed the editing of his forthcoming Awarapan, which releases worldwide today.

"At last!" he smiles. "I've been a zombie this last month. My body clock is completely messed up. I haven't been out with friends or enjoyed a drink in ages. I'm going to go on a rampage now!" laughs the 26-year old filmmaker, who has been seeing actress Udita Goswami for almost three years.

Commenting on the final cut of Awarapan, he says, "I wouldn't be the right person to say anything. I've seen it so many times that I've lost objectivity! But Bhatt saab (Mahesh) saw it and loved it!"

Mohit has already begun work on the Raaz sequel, which will star Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu.

Mustafa Zahid cries during Awarapan!

Not many know that while recording the To Phir Aao song in Mumbai for the forthcoming film, Awarapan, Pakistani rock sensation Mustafa Zahid actually cried!

Those present at the recording were pleasantly surprised to see the 25-year old stud turning into a softie. Remarks an onlooker, "He asked for the lights to be turned off while recording the song. He sang the song in pitch darkness to get feeling into it. When he came out of the recording studio, his eyes were red."

When quizzed, Mustafa Zahid (in the UK days back), a bit hesitant at first, confesses, "It was an emotional moment for me. To Phir Aao was among my first compositions back in Pakistan. Mohit (Suri) wanted a lot of feeling in the song, as it appears in the film's climax. He wanted me to imagine the loneliness of roads. It was a high to be re-rendering my composition for a Mahesh Bhatt film."

Awarapan releases worldwide today.

AWARAPAN crew lost in the desert!

While shooting in the scorching heat in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer for the song, 'Maula Maula', picturised on Emraan and Shriya, and rendered by the Pakistan-based Rafaqat Ali Khan, some members from the unit of Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming AWARAPAN, strayed too deep into the desert and got lost!

Panic strick the remaining unit who were unable to find their colleagues and before the local police could be requested to take action, it seems the lost members bumped into a tour guide who helped them chart their way back. Remarks director Mohit Suri, "We were terribly worried when we couldn't find these guys. When we saw them at last, we heaved a sigh of relief!"

Can Shreya and Mrinalini stand each other?

Recently, when Shreya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma were to do a promotional shoot for Awarapan for a music channel in Mumbai, the two refused to do a joint interview according to sources. Interview aside, the two even refused to exchange pleasantries, giving rise to speculations about a potential problem between them.

Remarks director Mohit Suri, "I'm not aware of this! They never shot together for Awarapan so I'm not sure how a problem, if any, would arise between them to begin with! At a recent photo shoot they appeared to be very friendly with each other from what I saw."

Incidentally, Shreya's mega Tamil blockbuster Sivaji, featuring Rajnikanth, opened to a thunderous box-office response. After Awarapan, Shreya's next release is Sangeeth Sivan's Ek with Bobby Deol & Nana Patekar, while Mrinalini's next is Showbiz, opposite newcomer Tushar Jalota, with whom she has been reported to be 'very friendly'.

Emraan's girl in a relationship?

Mrinalini Sharma, the sultry model debuting opposite Emraan Hashmi in Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming AWARAPAN and the one in the hit Maahiya track from the film, is reportedly an item with her forthcoming co-star.

According to sources, Minty (as she is fondly called) is seeing newcomer Tushar Jalota, her co-actor in Mahesh Bhatt's next title, SHOWBIZ. The two met up on the sets of the film and hit it off instantly.

Mrinalini, however, brushes aside talks about her liaison and prefers discussing AWARAPAN. "It's a stunning film! I can't wait for it to release!"
