Bigg Boss 2: Know your contestants!
The much awaited second season of ‘Bigg Boss 2’ has begun yesterday with Kamal Haasan returning as the host for the show. The show was aired for 4 hours during which a slew of 16 contestants were introduced to viewers. Here’s what you should know about all the sixteen contestants.
1.Yaashika Anand
Okay. It’s a bit redundant to introduce this belle who raise to fame with the adult comedy movie ‘Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu’. Well, it didn’t stop with that. Following her movie, Yaashika made made fame for her brazen and open views on issues, cultural stereotypes as well in several interviews. No doubt she’s going to set the Bigg Boss house on fire with her personality. Do you know that fans have already started a Yaashika army?
2. Ponnambalam
Don’t say you do not know him. Ponnambalam, though he started his career as an extra fighter began to appear in a lot of supporting roles, especially so in antagonist roles. However,t he actor has a sense of humour laced with his serious on screen performance. It would be definitely interesting to see how he performs in the show.
3. Mahat
If you’re a fan of director Venkat Prabhu, you must probably know about Mahat as he appears in a lot of VP movies. If you remember well, he also shared screen space with Simbu in ‘Vallavan’ in a minor role. He’s also since been close friends with Simbu. Let’s see if he would become a people favourite in the Bigg Boss house.
4.Daniel Anne Pope
You got to admit. He’s goofy and never fails to bring a smile with his comic sense. His Romba Sumar Moonji Kumaaru role in Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Itharku Thaane Aasaipattaai Balakumara’ alone had fetched him a astonishing fan following. How do you think Romba Sumar Moonji Kumar will fare in the Bigg Boss?
5. Vaishnavi
Vaishnavi is a journalist and a Radio Jockey. She is also the daughter of writer Sa.Vishwanathan who founded the magazine Saavi. The 29 year old was the sixth contestant to enter the Bigg Boss house as a commoner. Let us wait and watch how she is going to survive the Bigg Boss house with celebrities and the tough situations that the show brings to its contestants.
6. Janani Iyer
Janani Iyer is cute, looks bubbly as much as her skilled performances in movies. Though Janani studied engineering, she ventured into modelling and later got her first break in director Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan’. Teh film earned her critical appraise following which h=she began appearing in more mainstream movies. Sure her addition as a contestant in ‘Bigg Boss’ is welcomed with joy by fans.
7.Ananth Vaidyanathan
Ananth Vaidyanathan is a famous singer and a voice expert who rose to high fame with Vijay TV’s Airtel Super Singer. Being the oldest contestant in this season, we sure could expect some music and maturity from him. Not to mention how he gets along with the other younger contestants.
8.Ramya NSK
Ramya NSK is famous playback singer and also the granddaughter of comedian NS Krishnan and TA Mathuram. She has an extensive portfolio in both Tamil and Telugu industries. Remember the song Unakkum Enakkum from the movie ‘Amma Kanakku’? That’s her.
9.Sendrayan
Sendrayan has appeared in films starting from Shanush’s ‘Poladhavan’. But teh actor gained a major fan following and appreciation after his role as a small time criminal in Naveen’s ‘Moodar Koodam’. Then he went on to act in other films like ‘Puthiya Niyama’ and ‘Metro’ as well. Sendrayan has the zing when it comes to emote natural comedy and it would be interesting to observe his personality in the Bigg Boss house!
10.Riythvika
Of course, you remember her from Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’. But the actress had made her debut in director Bala’s ‘Paradesi’ in the character of Karuthakanni and later to an astounding performance in director Ranjith’s ‘Madras’. She has also received the Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actress as well.

Mumtaj is an unexpected contestant in the Bigg Boss season 2. Fans almost forgot the actress owing to her break in acting.
