It's known that, on Sunday, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) decided to stall all film shoots in Tollywood from August 1. To this effect, its President Kotha Basi Reddy made a statement, supporting the stance taken already by the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild and the Telugu Film Producers Council.

With news reports saying that the shoot of Thalpathy Vijay's 'Vaarasudu' is going on in Vizag on August 1, Basi Reddy today stated that the issue is being looked into. There is a view that 'Vaarasudu' is a Telugu-dubbed movie and that 'Varisu' its original version is a Tamil movie, and therefore the decision by Telugu film bodies doesn't apply to it.

That said, the Chamber is looking into the matter. "I am not aware of Dil Raju's movie (read 'Vaarasudu') conducting its shoot today. Any production being carried out is wrong. The Chamber will send the decision about the ongoing strike to the Telugu Film Federation soon," Basi Reddy said.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumar Vallabhaneni of the Telugu Film Federation said that the Chamber's support is always welcome. "Once they send us a letter confirming the strike, we will implement their decision," he added.
