The official coronavirus updates for Tamil Nadu today have recorded yet another highest single-day spike with 2,710 new cases reported pushing up the total number of cases so far to 62,087. Chennai remains the chief contributor with 1487 cases reported today and housing 42,752 cases. The death toll in the state has now risen to 794 after 37 patients lost their lives to the deadly virus in the past twenty four hours.
On an even keel 1358 patients were discharged today taking up the tally of recoveries to 34,112 and the testing has also been amped with 25,234 persons tested today. Madurai has witness a sudden surge in cases with 157 reported today and ranks second to Chennai in the state.
