COVID-19: Kerala appoints 276 doctors on a single day!

Kerala government is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to the fight against COVID-19. Considering the emergency situation, 276 new doctors will be appointed through Public Service Commission (PSC) urgently, informed Health Minister K. K. Shailaja. They are selected based on the PSC rank list.

Health Minister K K Shailaja said that the decision was made as part of strengthening the measures for the prevention of Coronavirus attack as the number of positive cases are increasing in the State. She said that apart from the arrangements made for the coronavirus positive cases, isolation rooms for the ones who show the virus' symptoms are also being taken care of on a large scale. Around 6000 beds are being prepared to treat patients who show coronavirus symptoms. For this, the health department has prepared Plan A, Plan B and Plan C strategy.

As there are 346 vacancies of assistant health inspectors for appointment in paramedical services, the government will also appoint health inspectors in the respective department. The government has also designated one Covid-19 care hospital each in every district to accommodate 21,866 people at a time.
