Gas leak at SPY Agro's plant in Kurnool kills one

A tragic gas leak incident at SPY Agro industries in Nandyal, Kurnool on Friday consumed a life. Three workers have reportedly been hospitalized.

As per early reports, the factory's General Manager Srinivasa Rao (50) is the name of the deceased. "The incident happened due to ammonia gas leak," Kurnool District Collector G Veerapandian has been quoted as saying, adding that the situation is under complete control.

The Collector said that emergency measures were put in place soon after the incident was reported. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot in no time.

The factory produces 150,000 liters of Grain Neutral spirit on a daily basis.
