Bang Bang - B-town hottest pair Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are coming together in Bollywood biggest release till date (4500 screens) on 2nd October 2014 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The widest B-town release is carrying huge expectations amongst the audience and the industry.

While the audience is eagerly waiting for Siddharth Anand Indian remake of the 2010 Hollywood mega blockbuster Knight and Day` starring the super cool Tom Cruise and the extremely gorgeous Cameron Diaz. This action packed Hollywood bonanza raked in around 260 million dollars worldwide.

According to the makers Fox Star Studio Knight and Day` has all the ingredients of a b-town blockbuster - the hottest pair, mind-blowing action (the trailers have proved it`s out of this world and first ever in Bollywood), Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif`s marvelous box office track record that have being game changers at the box office. (Krirish 3, Dhoom 3) making them confident enough to invest a whooping 120 crores in the mega project that releases on 2nd October in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, hoping for a mega recovery. Says Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios (the producer), "On 2nd Oct Bang Bang` will see the widest release ever for a Bollywood film across the world. Over 4500 screens across 50 countries, with record breaking no of screens in the USA, UK & the Middle East."

Certainly the chemistry between Hrithik and Katrina was super hot in their previous` Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara` and here too both look awesome.. even better. The timing of the release on 2nd October - national holiday in India will work wonders for the film and the exhibitors are gung-ho about this venture helmed by Siddharth Anand's directorial. Mega multiplex chains PVR, Big Cinemas are very excited and this is what they have to say Gautam Dutta, COO, PVR Cinemas shares, "There is an incredible anticipation for the movie and the advance bookings across all PVR screens is really good. Certainly the hottest film of 2014; we are expecting a massive day one and the 5 day holiday weekend should result in record breaking numbers."

It must be mentioned that October 3 (Friday) is also a holiday on the occasion of Dussera` a big festival in India. So Bang Bang enjoys a bonus five day holiday weekend. Shares Ashish Saksena, COO, Big Cinemas, "Bang Bang looks to be the biggest film of the year, both in terms of its look as well as the timing of the release, with an extended 5 day weekend. We have opened the advances and the response has been more than terrific- both off the counters as well as in terms of block bookings from corporates. We expect this to become the biggest film of the year looking at the audience response."

Before predicting its weekend numbers let`s look at the flipside though they are not that dangerous.. The cost - 140 crore.. so a business of over 200 crore from Indian territory is a must to reach a breakeven. The director Siddharth Anand box office track record is not very exciting. Starting his career with a decent hit for YRF in 2005 with Salaam Namaste starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.

Siidharth Anand`s last three directorial ventures Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007- starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee), Anjaana Anjaani (2010 - Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra) and Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008 - Ranbir, Deepika, Bipasha, Minissha Lamba) have performed below trade expectations.. Bang Bang is not a solo release.. UTV and Vishal Bhardwaj`s Haider` starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu and K.K. Menon is also hitting the theaters on the same day to cash on the five day holiday weekend.

This Vishal Bhardwaj Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' will attract the connoisseurs of cinema who look beyond entertainment in movies.. So Bang Bang relies heavily on its super hot star cast - Hrithik, Katrina, touted never before action seen in Bollywood and holiday release on Thursday with a bonus five day weekend. If the movie fulfills its expectations of providing entertainment to the core..

A weekend of 125 crore should be achievable considering its 5 day weekend and taking 25 crore as its opening day figure keeping in mind two days holidays on its release day - Thursday and day two Friday, the Saturday standard drop and Sunday spurge as seen normally in mega budget. And if the movie turns out to be extra ordinary then anything can happen..
