Independent candidate giving chappal to voters!

An Independent candidate is seeking votes in Jagityal district in a unique way. He is giving a chappal to voters, asking them to beat him with it if he doesn't fulfill his promises.

Video clips of the candidate doing this curious thing have been widely circulated on social media. Some of them feature the voters looking at him with a blank expression. And in others, we see the voters stunned or amused.

Such a peculiar way of seeking votes is not new. In Kurnool, a mayoral candidate named Bangi Ananthayya, contesting on a TDP ticket several years ago, famously fell at the feet of his voters (and sometimes even kids) in seeking votes.
