India logs more than 4 lakh fresh cases

India has logged as many as 4,01,993 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours. The latest health bulletin says that the 24-hour period witnessed as many as 3523 deaths and 2,99,988 discharges.

Night curfews extended in Telangana

Total cases, cumulatively, stands at 1,91,64,969. So far, there have been 1,56,84,406 recoveries in the country. The cumulative death toll has hit the 2,11,853 figure.

And active cases continue to rise. India has got 32,68,710 active cases at the moment. So far, 15,49,89,635 individuals have been vaccinated.

Telangana: 7,646 fresh cases logged

Meanwhile, vaccination for the 18-44 age group has begun in India only in six States. Barring Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha and Chattisgarh are administering vaccines to the people in the age group to a very limited extent.
