After Shantham, Bheebatsam, Karunam, Athbhutham and the last released Veeram, veteran director Jayaraj is coming up with Bhayanakam in his Navarasa series. The movie will feature Renji Panicker in the lead role while Asha Sharath will appear as heroine. Set against the backdrop of Kuttanad, Bhayanakam is an independent interpretation of two chapters of Takazhi Sivasankara Pillai’s ‘Kayar’, exploring the journey of a postman, played by Renji Panicker.

Produced under the banner of Prakriti Pictures, Bhayanakam's music is composed by M K Arjun. Songs' lyrics are written by Sreekumaran Thampi. The cinematography is by Nikhil S Praveen. The movie will be primarily shot in Kuttanad and surrounding areas.
