Everyone were taken by surprise when news of ace director and cinematographer Amal Neerad's wedding with actress Jyothormayi surfaced. Jyothirmayi revealed to an online portal that she had known Amal right from her college days. They had studies together at Maharajas' College.
She said that while at college they had shared ideas and thoughts and that he was like a big brother to her. Years later, post her divorce, when was was at a crossroads in her life, Amal had been very non-judgmental about her divorce and had been a good friends. Jyothirmayi revealed that it took four years for their friendship to turn into love. And when her parents came to know their plan to marry, they were very supportive.
