Malayalee actress Karthika is once again appearing in a Malayalam remake, in Kollywood. The actress who had earlier been the heroine in ‘Nam Nadu’, a remake of Malayalam hit 'Lion' is now donning the female lead in the remake of Sreenivasan's much popular Malayalam film of the nineties 'Vadakku Nokki Yanthram'.

She will appear in the role that Paravathy had done in the original while comedy actor Karunas, will appear for the first time as the hero.

Titled 'Dindigal Sarathy', the story of the movie revolves around an average man who lives according to the advices he gets from the 'psychiatric adviser' column of a weekly. As he has to marry a beautiful woman, he develops an inferiority complex for being an bad looking, dark and short man.

The hero who starts doubting his wife on every silly issues, plays several foolish acts according to the advice of his friends, to win over his wife.He slowly loses his grip over reality and ends up in a mental hospital.

The original in Malayalam was the directorial debut of Sreenivasan in the year 1989. He scripted for the movie and also acted in the male lead of the flick, which was much popular with the masses and also earned the state award for the best film of the year.
