When a team of promising youngsters come together for a film, it is obviously bound to except hype and expectations. Young actor Krishna (Vishnuvardhan's brother), rookie Balaji Devi Prasad and music composer Paul J team up for `Kattradhu Kalavu'.

Produced by `Pattiyal' Sekar, the movie has five songs that are peppy and entertaining. The highlight of the album is a remix number (`Azhagana Ponnuthan.'). Also there is `Indha Vanam.', a melodious number by Hariharan and Anuradha Sriram set in a Carnatic ragam, to woo those who love soft melodies.

Cheers to Paul J for a good work with a set of energetic and talented singers.

1. Azhagana Ponnu Thaan - Listen here

Singer: Paul J, Sunandita

It is a racy track quite like another remix of yesteryear hit numbers. It begins in a soft manner and takes pace as it progresses. Supposedly shot as an item-number, it should have Mumaith Khan shaking her legs. Paul J besides composing the tune has crooned it with Sunandita. Her open vocals are stunning.

2. Kattradhu Kalavu - Listen here

Singer: Blaaze, Dinesh K

With Blaaze around, you can always expect an interesting rap all through. The song is typical of his style. But the beats resemble `Taxi Taxi.' from `Sakkarakatti'. Dinesh oozes with right energy to match Blaaze. A trendy hip-hop song that would top the charts.

3.   Indha Vaanam - Listen here

Singer: Hariharan and Anuradha Sriram

Hariharan is at it again. What else but for a stunning melody you would associate his voice with. A song dipped in a classical raga, `Indha Vaanam.' is a cute romantic number with less instrumentation but more of beautiful alps. Anuradha Sriram is impressive as she touches top octaves. Paul J deserves a special pat for this one.

4. Thevaaram - Listen here

Singer: Yogeshwaran Maanickam, Puniyavathi Elangovan

An interesting number in the album. The vocals are mild but the beats stands out. Yogeshwaran's vocal does the trick. Paul J sticks to a classical music pattern here too.

5. Sudandhiram Sudandhiram - Listen here

Singer: Paul J, Shakthi Shree

The hallmark of the song is its excellent orchestration. Paul J sings it with a Western touch. Shakthi Sree chips in with her best. The lyrics are simple but sweet to listen to. The uniform pace at which the song progresses is impressive.

In short, `Kattradhu Kalavu' is a good musical effort by Paul J. It has songs that would enthral youngsters. With Nirav Shah cranking the camera for these songs, they are sure to come good on screen too.
