Kavya Madhavan, with much insight has said that her taking a break from the tinsel town wouldn't have affected the film industry even a tad bit. She talked about this when asked about the kind of space that actresses like her is getting today with movies like 'She -Taxi' and 'Akashvani'. These movies have the plot revolving around Kavya's roles which is very different from the previous scenario when the female lead was more or less a decoration.
She says that her absence from films has not opened up any new spaces for anyone. She feels that cinema is not dependent on anyone. It goes on whether or not you continue. She says that it is the actors who need cinema and not the other way around. Cinema will go on, whoever comes or goes, says the actress.
