The newspapers of Saturday carried photographs of an aircraft that had to land in a paddy field around central Kerala and survived from big damages only due to its crucial act from the pilot. But this does not distract Mohanlal, the Malluwood superstar to enjoy a helicopter ride Saturday.

Mohanlal was initially quite apprehensive, but finally managed to arrive at 4 pm, after his helicopter landed at the helipad of the agricultural ground at Vellayani on the outskirts of the city to take part in the first anniversary celebrations of Flash, a tabloid from the stables of Kerala Kaumudi Saturday evening.

It. Col. S.B. Nair, who flew Mohanlal's helicopter, said that the actor was fully composed and really enjoyed the flight which left Palakkad, from the sets of Baba Kalyani, at 2.20 AM. "He told us that he was extremely comfortable and enjoyed the helicopter ride," said Nair.

In 1980, the Malayalam film industry had lost one of its superstars in a helicopter accident when action hero Jayan was acting a stunt scene for I V Sasi’s Kolilakam in an airfield in Tamil Nadu.

The function also brought together Priyadarshan, Maniyanpillai Raju and Sureshkumar the makers of Poochakkuru Mukuthi 25 years back, and then have been the leading stars of Malluwood cinema. The function also brought together the stars of Classmates like Kavya and Jayasuriya, which is making headlines for its phenomenal run.
