There was hue and cry on Tuesday when the letter from 107 years ‘Walking God’ Sri Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Math, Tumkur reached the media.

In the meeting of minister MB Patil and Sri Shivakumara Swamiji at Siddaganga, the minister of state has stated that there is approval from Sri Siddaganga Math Swamiji on forming separate Dharma (religion).

The letter that reached the media on Tuesday clearly stated from Sri Shivakumara Swamiji that his opinion was misled by the minister and he never sought for a separate ‘Dharma’.

For issuing a wrong approval in the media, minister of Water Resources MB Patil was taken to task. The furor started on this issue in various television channels.

When MB Patil was contacted on this letter from Sri Shivakumara Swamiji that said Veerashaiva and Lingayat are united and there is no room for formation of ‘Dharma’, the minister replied that ‘let his family vanish in case he has twisted the statement of Swamiji’. Precisely in Kannada ‘Let my family Sarvanasha Agali’ from minister was not expected. It also said that he has rightly understood what Sri Shivakumara Swamiji had told.

In the city areas it is expressed as Veerashaiva and in rural areas the same community is told as Lingayats. The leaders should unite and discuss on this issue was the observation of 107 years Sri Shivakumara Swamiji.
