Divorces and single mothers are on the rise and Malayalam cinema too is reflecting this reality. Two of Mollywood's leading actresses are playing single mothers in their upcoming movies respectively. They are also successfully employed in various capacities.

Bhavana plays a divorcee who is also a mother in the Shyamaprasad movie 'Ivide'. She plays Rosalyn, who is employed in an IT company at Atlanta, USA. The movie will have her sharing screen with Prithviraj and Nivin Pauly. Manju Warrier is the other actress to play a single mother in an upcoming release. She plays Deepa who is a lawyer. This Sathyan Anthikad movie titled 'Ennum Epozhum' has Mohanlal as the male protagonist.
