Here comes another film on the trials and tribulations of Keralites working in the Middle East - but this one boasts of dollops of glamour.

It's sterling star cast, featuring Mohanlal and Sobhana, promises to set "Mambazhakalam" apart from other films on the theme. The film is being made in and around Alappuzha.

Leading the star cast is the versatile National Award winning actor Mohanlal whose earlier film "Varavelppu" revolved around the problems of a man who returns from the Middle East.

In the new film, Mohanlal plays the role of Chandran who toils hard in the Middle East for his brothers and friends and forgets that he too has a life.

Among the other big names associated with the film is Sobhana, the darling of Malayali audiences, who returns to the Kerala silver screen after two years.

The other speciality is director Joshi who returns after a long time to make a family film free of the frills and fuss of big budget action movies.

"Acting in Malayalam films for me is like returning to my ancestral home from the city," said Sobhana.

"I don't think I feel that two years was a gap because I did two English films. Moreover, my fans had a bouquet of my previous Malayalam films coming regularly on TV channels. But certainly I am excited because the film is packed with big names."

In the past, she and Mohanlal have had all time hits like "Manichithrathazhu", "Thenmavin Kombathu", "Vellanakalude Nadu" and "Nadodikattu".
