The success of Vadakkumnathan has taken Padmapriya to greater heights in Malluwood. In spite of the delay in its release, the movie has managed to open big last week. Asked about the success, Padmapriya says, "I don't know, I guess it was the ambience that the project provided. Remember there was Lal, S Kumar, the late Raveendran, Girish Puthencherry, Shajun and Murali among others. They all helped me. Moreover, the character was well etched out and the traits of the character were credible and life-like".

On the shorter life span for heroines, she says, "Till now, I have had the best of roles that any actress could dream of, so I can't really complain. I am choosy, experimental and have done things that I have always wanted to do". Her forthcoming ventures include 'Ashwaroodam' with Suresh Gopi, directed by Jayaraj and 'Bhagvatacharitram Moonnamghattam' with Mammootty and Sreenivasan, which will be directed by Jomon. In Tamil, 'Satham Podathe' with Prithviraj and Nitin, directed by Vasant.
