Ramdev & others complain about Yechury

Prominent yoga exponent Baba Ramdev, together with some other saints, today filed a complaint against CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury.

Yechury is in the dock for making an "offensive" statement "hurting" religious sentiments. "Ramayana and Mahabharata are also filled with instances of violence and battles," Yechury said most recently.

It's difficult for such statements to stand legal scrutiny. Although Freedom of Expression is fair game in our society, the 'offender' can still get out of the legal wrangle if he is an important person. The statement in question is too generic in any case.
