After his condom commercial senation, Ranveer Singh has attracted attention with his next ad. This time the actor has landed in controversy over the brand Rupa's latest ad, which features the actor proving his macho side, by fighting a shark in order to save a girl's life in sea. The ad got Ranveer negative points from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) supporters, citing that it was offending. The animal rights officials considered taking up this matter seriously by writing to the actor and brand.

Following which a statement was sent out by Mr. Mukesh Agarwal, Whole-time Director, Rupa & Co. Ltd. and spokesperson for the Brand. He stated, "This is to clarify that the shark shown in the latest Rupa commercial featuring Ranveer Singh is a rubber toy, no animal was used in the shoot. It is not our intention to hurt anyone's sentiment. We will be adding a disclaimer to the ad to this effect."
