Andhra Pradesh I.G. of Police Kantha Rao has warned that red sanders smugglers would be fired at when they are spotted committing the crime.

Tamils have been arrested in huge numbers by the police of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh for reportedly indulging in smuggling red sanders. The A.P. police, however, hasn’t yet traced the origin of the crime i.e. at whose behest the arrest had indulged in smuggling the expensive red sanders. It may be recalled that it shot dead 20 Tamils in the past, accusing them as smugglers.

Many Tamils, who have been working as labourers in the State, have still been languishing in prisons in Andhra Pradesh as they have been branded as ‘red sanders smugglers’. They were recently locked up in a mini-lorry and were tortured ta a police Station. Though it was reported widely, the Govt. of Tamil Nadu hadn’t yet reacted to the report.

Rao, in-charge of the anti-red sandes smuggling unit, has said that those indulding in smuggling red-sanders would be shot at the moment they are spotted committing the crime.
