On Sunday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s 23-year-old son Aryan and seven others following a drug bust on board a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. According to NCB officials, 13g of cocaine, 5g of MD, 21g of charas, and 22 pills of MDMA and Rs. 1.33 lakh in cash was recovered. They were booked under Sections 8C, 20B, and 27 read with 35 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

It is reported that Khan was booked only for consumption under Section 27 of the NDPS Act. He will get a maximum punishment of one year or with a fine which may extend to Rs 20,000."We had an exclusive information which needed to be verified and hence we entered the ship in disguise. After verifying the information, we conducted the raid and detained eight people. We are finding more information about the source of drugs. The whole case will have different layers and this is just the first layer. In coming days, more people could be detained and arrested," said S.N. Pradhan, NCB chief. The NCB boarded the cruise ship disguised as passengers and conducted the raid once the ship sailed and the party started.

They were produced in court on Monday and Aryan's lawyer Satish Maneshinde demanded bail, saying that his client had been arrested only on the basis of chat messages. "Aryan had no ticket, no cabin or seat onboard the cruise. He was there because he had been invited. He didn't even have a boarding pass. Nothing has been found on him. He was arrested on the basis of chat only." Stay tuned for more updates!
