After much search for fresh faces, director T K Rajeevkumar has started canning the remake of 'Rathinirvedham' and the role of Pappu with an engineering student, Sreejith. The actor who had recently made an unimpressive debut with Fazil's 'Living Together', playing one of the friends of the protagonist, hails from Thrippunithura. Though his parents were initially reluctant to let their son appear in the movie with plenty of sensuous scenes, this model turned actor has made them agree to let him do the role as he believes that every actor needs to experiment in variety of roles to find a place in Mollywood.

The original cult classic of Malayalam by Bharathan-Padmarajan team which told the story of a relation between an young boy and an older women, had Jayabharathy and Krishnachandran doing the lead acting honours. In the remake, Shwetha Menon is coming up as Rathi chechi, which itself has become a big boost to the commercial viability of the project. Her recent outing in a similar role for the movie 'Kayam' has managed to bring in audience that helped the movie to mince some money.

The remake of ‘Rathinirvedham’ expected to hit the theatres as a summer release is produced by Revathy Kalamandhir.
