Unperturbed over the disaster like ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ Balakrishna resumed the shooting of ‘Srirama Rajyam’ directed by Bapu and produced by Yalamanchili Saibabu on the banner of Sri Saibaba Movies.

The shooting of film was formally launched at Ramakrishna Studios in Nacharam on November 22. The regular shooting was started on December 2 and the first schedule continued till December 10.

The second schedule was launched on January 21 and is expected to continue till February 5. Some important scenes involving Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who is playing the role of Valmiki are being shot in Ashram set. So far three songs were also choreographed.

Balakrishna is playing the role of Lord Rama, while Nayanatara is donning the role of Sita, Srikanth as Lakshmana and Saikumar as Bharata.

Earlier, a special set was erected at a forest near Pothina Mallayyapalem on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam, but the forest department cancelled permission for the shooting of the film as the unit attempted to fell some trees in the forest for Ashram set.

So, another set was erected in Alwal near Secunderabad and the unit continued its shooting there.

Producer says, ‘Eight songs were recorded in Illayaraja’s music direction and there are a few bit songs too. It is a remake of NTR’s all- time classic ‘Lava Kusa’. We are going to establish a Durbar Set at Ramoji Film City. We are making efforts to release the movie on June 10.
