Released in 2003, Anbe Sivam directed by Sundar C, starring Kamal Haasan and Madhavan in lead roles, with Kiran Rathod playing the female lead is now considered as a classic movie, and people are seen celebrating it everytime it gets telecast on TV.

However, the movie which was released on Pongal 2003 alongside movies such as Vikram starrer Dhool and Vijay's Vaseegara was a commercially unsuccessful venture despite receiving very positive reviews from critics. Now, Kushbhu has opened up on the struggles after its release.

Quoting a netizen tweeting about Anbe Sivam praising the movie being the top rated movie on IMDb, Kushbhu responded "Wish film had done commercially well.. my husband wouldn’t sit at home for 2 yrs after that.. ??????❤️❤️". In another tweet, Kushbhu also slammed random people behaving like critics in lockdown, as she tweeted "This free time has given space to every tom dick n Harry to become a film critic..wish they did something they knew about or something useful.
