Mani Ratnam's timeless classic 'Thalapathy', a modern retelling of the Mahabharatha had Superstar Rajinikanth and Megastar Mammootty as Karna and Duryodhana. News coming in from the North Indian media suggests that the legendary actos may reunite for a new film that begins shooting in early 2018.

Reports are that a Marathi project is in the pipleline titled 'Pasaayadan' directed by debutante Deepak Bhave and Rajini and Mammootty have been approached to play pivotal roles and are on the verge of giving their nods.  If this news turns out be true it will then mark the Marathi debut of both Rajini and Mammootty and the official confirmation is expected sometime towards the end of this year.
