There were widespread accusations that the videos that were made using the hugely popular among youth Tik Tok application had been spoiling the culture with obscene and vulgar content, and following this a ban on Tik Tok app was demanded by many.

With a case filed in the Madurai bench of Chennai High Court, the court had ordered the Central government to impose a ban on the download of the app, and after this the central government had instructed Google and Apple play store to disable downloads of Tik Tok, and Google removed the app from its play store.

Due to this Indians were unable to download Tik Tok. However, a plea was filed in Supreme court challenging the verdict to ban downloading Tik Tok app, and in the hearing held today, the Supreme court has lifted the ban on Tik Tok download imposed by the high court, and this has come as a shocker.
