The UK elections are witnessing the rise of the Conservatives, led by Boris Johnson. As per early trends, they are on course to win the poll.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party is heading for a "crushing defeat of the kind not witnessed since 1935". In the wake of exit polls predicting the colossal defeat, Jeremy Corbyn has quit as the party's leader. He said that he will not lead the party in any future election campaign. "The projected result is very disappointing," Corbyn has been quoted as saying.

Many socialist voices across the world are ruing the loss. Luke Savage, a reporter, said, "Jeremy Corbyn is one of the most principled and dynamic political figures of modern times. He’s given socialists everywhere tremendous inspiration and we’ll forever owe him our gratitude - particularly in light of what he’s been subjected to, courtesy of the worst people alive."

On the other hand, the Hindu Right in India is gleeful about the Labour Party's projected defeat. Says Abhijit Majumder, "Britain has kicked back to the grave the vile, anti-Semitic, anti-Hindu, pro-Pakistan, pro-jihadi, economically disastrous Leftism of Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party. He even tried to reverse the democratic will of people on Brexit."
