Mollywood's iconic on-screen pair Mammootty and Shobana have never failed to impress the audiences. As the duo has shared the screen in several classic super hits, its a dream for every Malayalis to see them together again on the silver screen. In December last year, the actress had shared a picture with Mammootty in the sets of his upcoming movie ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ and mentioned him as ‘The captain’. The picture soon went viral on the internet and speculations were doing the rounds that the actress will be playing a cameo role in the project. On Friday, Mammootty took to his official Instagram handle to share the BTS video of Shobana's visit and in no time the video has set social media on fire. Sharing the video the actor penned a note referring the actress to her iconic character Nagavalli. “ When Nagavalli met Sethurama Iyyer," captioned Mammootty.

In the video, Mammootty is seen welcoming the actress on the set. The duo is seen having a candid chat and lunch together. The video is a proof that there has been no change in their friendship even though it’s been a long time since they shared screen space. Mammootty's post was soon flooded with comments from the fans who were all asking the actor if she would be sharing screen space with him in the fifth installment of the CBI franchise.

'CBI 5-The Brain' directed by K Madhu will feature Mammootty as Sethurama Iyer, a CBI officer. It was recently, the team had announced that the movie cleared the censor formalities with a U/A certificate and is slated to release on May 1, 2022. ‘CBI 5: The Brain'. Penned by SN Swamy, the movie will mark the return of the legendary actor Jagathy Sreekumar to acting after a long gap. He will be reprising the role of inspector Vikram in the upcoming movie. Meanwhile, actor Mukesh will be also reprising the role of Chacko in the upcoming installment of the CBI series. Going by the movie's teaser, which was released last month, it looks like Sethurama Iyer and his team are investigating something really big in the upcoming installment and movie buffs are going crazy over it. Meanwhile, Shobana was last seen in the Malayalam movie Varane Avashyamund, directed by Anoop Sathyan. It also starred Suresh Gopi, Dulquer Salmaan and Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the lead characters.
