Maverick BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy has issued a threat to his own party bosses by stating that he won’t ‘hesitate’ in toppling the Narendra Modi-led BJP regime at the Centre if he is ‘disturbed’ or ‘opposed’ by the party.

Known for his controversial statements and outbursts, Swamy has often made quite embarrassing statements but hasn’t been restrained, for some reasons, by his party bosses. Speaking to newsmen recently, Swamy said that he was awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on Ram Mandir issue. “A judgement would be available within two weeks of final hearing for which I’m waiting,” he said.

“As far as my knowledge goes, no Muslim is opposed to the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. They have expressed their support and consent for the construction on various occasions. They have also gone on record stating that they won’t lay claim to the disputed site at Ayodhya. If the Centre and the U.P. Govt. oppose me, I know how to topple them. I challenge them to attempt to oppose me,” he stated.

Swamy’s audacious statement against his own party bosses has shocked the party in particular and political observers in general.
