With 'Madhoshi', 9/11 weaves its way to Bollywood

Here comes "Madhoshi", a film about a girl who gets interested in counter-terrorism efforts after her sister dies in the 9/11 attacks in the US.

"It affects her life deeply," says Bipasha Basu who plays the role. "She wants to know why terrorism takes place and how people who tackle it work."

John Abraham plays a counter-terrorism expert.

"Madhoshi" is releasing just a day before Sep 11 this year, the anniversary of the attacks. The film is being produced by Anil Sharma and directed by newcomer Tanveer Khan.

Besides Bipasha and John, it will star Priyanshu Chatterjee, Smita Jaykar, Vikram Gokhle, Anang Desai, Nandita Puri and TV star Shweta Tiwari.

Sharma, who made "Suhag", "Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet" and "Aashiq", strikes again with "Madhoshi".

The film is a romantic thriller and revolves around college student Bipasha, who is a very normal girl until she gets traumatized by her elder sister's death.

She is engaged to ad world director Priyanshu Chatterjee but is in love with someone else, John Abraham, who is a member of an anti-terrorist organization.

John and Bipasha share an unmistakable chemistry. If you ever had a doubt, check the two get up, close and personal.

Dialogue writer Tanveer Khan, who debuts as director with this film on his own script, says confidently "this subject you have never seen on Hindi cinema".

Roop Kumar Rathod will score the music.
