Brick Lane is an award winning novel. The story is that of a Bangladeshi girl. It talks about how she proceeds form being an adolescent to a matured girl in London.

The film will be directed by Sarah Gavron who has done exemplary work in the past like This Little Life and Losing Touch. Sameera plays Nazneen. She is currently shooting for Ahmed Khan's Fool & Final.

She seems to be very happy about the role. She gives due credits to Buddhadeb Dasgupta's Kaalpurush for a heavy duty role that fetched her Nazneen as an opportunity. The character has several layers to it and has a lot to do. She feels it is an opportunity of a lifetime.
