Mogambo won't return, says Boney Kapoor

IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, December 19, 2012]

While all are keenly waiting for the return of 'Mr. India' on big screens, the maker of the film however clarifies that one should not expect its iconic villain Mogambo to comeback as well.

Talking in an interview, producer Boney Kapoor pointed out that they are not remaking the 1987's superhero film, instead are bringing up its sequel.

While the lead cast Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will reprise and take their original roles in the new version, the film's popular baddie Mogambo (played by Amirsh Puri) will naturally be replaced as he dies in the original and they will introduce a new one, Kapoor revealed.

So there goes the dream of seeing the 'dabangg' super star Salman Khan as Mogambo... For, speculations were rife earlier that the macho star will be reprising the bald baddie in the new version of 'Mr. India'.

"If I had my way, I would plan every film with Salman Khan. But this is not in my hands, it will be according to the script," remarked the filmmaker.

As of now, Kapoor said to be busy with the making of 'No Entry Mein Entry' (the sequel of 'No Entry') and only after which he will move on to work on the sequel of 'Mr.India'.
