Iron man of Bollywood Ajay Devgn's yet another comedy flick "Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge" is hitting the screens soon. Check out the music review!
When you think of Ajay Devgn, you think of his fists and their fury. But the man has been part of so many comedy movies in the recent past and he seems to continue the same with director Ashwani Dhir's 'Atithi...'. Being a comic theme, the director has used three directors including the talented Pritam. The other two are Amit Mishra and Vishal Bhardwaj. Lyrics by Irshad Kamil are laudable. Looks like a comic treat to the audience, and this music album complements it.
1. Aaja Aaja - Listen here
Music: Pritam
Singers: Raghubir Yadav, Ajay Jhingran, Rajneesh
Pritam is best composing fast and lively numbers and he's repeated the same in "Aaja Aaja". Supposedly the title song, it starts with Raghubir Yadav's crooning to a high pitch tone. Amazing balance by the singer and then the chorus joins in. Lyrics include relatives who you wouldn't imagine to even call. Looks like the video of this song will play an important role, because the lyrics have comic instances and dialogues that make it lively.
2. Aaja Aaja (Remixed) - Listen here
Music: Pritam
Singers: Raghubir Yadav, Ajay Jhingran, Rajneesh
Pritam's known to remix his hits, and "Aaja Aaja" has not been spared from the list. The trance beats make you move involuntarily. This is absolutely a number to dance when a party's on.
3. Athithi Tum Kab Jaoge - Listen here
Music: Amit Mishra
Singer: Amit Mishra
Amit Mishra promises to be of tremendous talent. Bollywood's increasingly encouraging new age music and Amit has done a decent job of creating a desi tune to western beats. Besides the lyrics in Hindi, the English lyrics that are penned deserve a pat. This song is mainly a humming number and might not entice your music senses.
4. Dohay - Listen here
Music: Amit Mishra
This is a song with a serious and sober tune. The music could have been better yet the meaningful lyrics cover it up. Old proverbs have been included in the song. The music director has used the chorus to good effect. A varied tune could have been composed for this song.
5.Jyothi Jalaile - Listen here
Music: Vijay Bhardwaj
Singer: Sukhwinder Singh
You experience déjà vu when you listen to "Jyothi Jalaile". Vishal Bharadwaj has already tried this tune in 'Omkara' in the popular "Beedi" song. The lyrics are obviously different and when you listen to it, you'd think the singer is singing at a temple or a pooja gathering. The best thing about both the songs is Sukhwinder Singh's voice that adds energy. Maybe the director wanted the tune in the movie. You can afford to listen to his voice for the same tune again as its very lively.
6. Sukh Karta - Listen here
Music: Amit Mishra
This song has a devotional tune and Amit has fused it with western beats. Sukh Karta actually is a Marathi prayer to Lord Ganesh, and the music director has included filmy lyrics in between. Looks like the cast, prays in this song. A nice way to end the album.
Taking in to account the hilarity the movie would have, the director may have not concentrated much in the music department. The songs could have been a little more inviting to listen, yet it's a novel presentation.
