Vijayachander's Kind Gesture

Noted artiste Vijayachander, who played all-time great roles like Jesus Christ, Shirdi Sai Baba, and his grandfather Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, earned a distinct place in the hearts of Telugu audiences.

Vijayachander had purchased some land near Kukatpally with a view to serve the society. That land was handed over to the film industry through the hands of Nata Samrat, Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao at AP Film Chamber on June 10.

The land measuring 18 acres would be utilised for the construction of Old Age City for the benefit of old cine artistes. A part of the land was earmarked for Movie Artistes Association (MAA).

Speaking on the occasion, Vijayachander says, 'Adurthi Subba Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao introduced me to the film industry through 'Maro Prapancham'. I was at this stage because of the film industry. So I seriously thought of doing something for this film industry which brought me to this stage. So I have decided to give land for the construction of Old Age City for the benefit of old film artistes and MAA and registered in their name. I would like to allot land to the people of all the 24 crafts in the film industry. I thank the producers council which had cooperated with me in this regard.'

Nagababu, Muralimohan, Sagar, Paruchuri brothers, SV Krishna Reddy, C Kalyan, Srihari and others attended the programme and complimented Vijayachander for his kind gesture.
