Subrahmanyapuram is quite engaging: Eesha Rebba

Eesha Rebba awaits the release of 'Subrahmanyapuram' on December 7. In this interview, she talks about her character, love track in the movie, working with director Santosh Jagarlapudi, upcoming projects and more.

Are you kicked about the genre of the film?

I like thrillers a lot. When director Santosh approached me, he did say it's a thriller. After listening to a 2-hour narration, I found it quite engaging. I visualized the director's narration and liked it.

What's your character like?

She believes in God. She is very religious. She is very attached to her family. Sumanth plays a temple research scholar who doesn't have faith in God. There is a love story in the movie but it's not in such a way that the thriller part is disturbed. It's not an exaggerated track. Initially, there are minor disturbances between the lead pair, which they resolve eventually. They argue with each other. The main story is something else.

How was it working with the debutant director?

Santosh is a very enthusiastic director. He really likes his work. He is conscious that he has to do his best, this being his debut movie. He tells the actors how to emote.

Tell us about the production values and how it was challenging to do the movie.

When you are shooting VFX-heavy movies, the actors have to put in a lot of imagination. The final product looks so exciting for the actors, too. Sudhakar garu is a very passionate producer. He wants to know everything about filmmaking and visits the sets regularly.

Are you a religious person? Do you like only thrillers?

I am not that religious. I don't go to the temple regularly. I watch all kinds of genres. I really like horrors and thrillers a lot. I like to be kept in suspense.

Is it true that you are part of 'NTR' biopic and the Rajamouli-Ram Charan-NTR movie?

I can't tell you about the 'NTR' biopic. I haven't got any offer from the RRR movie makers. If I get, I will be so happy.

How was it working with Sumanth?

I like his acting, which is always subtle. I love his movies 'Godavari' and 'Golconda High School', among others.

What are you looking forward to?

Whatever opportunities I am getting, I am making use of them. Those who deem me fit approach me and I put in my best effort. I do seek work. I want to work with different directors. I am doing a Kannada movie and debuting in Tamil. I will start shooting for these movies later this month.

Is it difficult for Telugu girls in the industry?

I have been in the industry for 4.5 years. Things are changing. There are a lot of Telugu girls in the industry. Recently, we have seen a Telugu-speaking girl debuting in 'Taxiwaala'.

Don't you think your role in 'Aravindha Sametha' was insignificant?

In big movies, it's about the hero. The audience came to the movie only for NTR garu. Whatever is there, I am happy to have done the movie.

Do you have friends in the industry? How do you see the year gone by?

I have many friends in the industry. I don't meet them regularly, though. This has been a great year. I got to do movies like 'AS' and the public too received me well. Respect for me has increased a lot.
