'Kanchana 2' was one of the most successful blockbuster sequels in the history of Tamil cinema. The sequel to 2011 blockbuster 'Kanchana' released in 2015. The film was directed and produced by Raghava Lawrence, who also acted in the lead role. The horror-comedy flick went on to make huge profits.

Latest reports suggest that 'Kanchana 2' is going to be remade in Hindi and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who has acted in quite a few South Indian remakes, will reprise the role played by Lawrence in the original. We will have to wait for an official confirmation.

It must be noted that Akshay is making his Tamil debut with '2.0' directed by Shankar with Rajinikanth in the lead role. His much-awaited Hindi-language drama 'Pad Man', directed by R Balki, will hit the screens on Feb 9.
