Highlights of Pawan Kalyans Dowleswaram speech

Pawan Kalyan spoke at length in Dowleswaram, addressing a large crowd who had come to listen to him at the Jana Sena Kavathu event. True to his style, Pawan projected himself as an undergo and his party as one established by the grandson of a postman and son of a sub-inspector.

Power Star got aggressive in his speech when he said that petitioning and prayers no longer work. "These power-wielders should be warned, we should tell them they will be skinned alive," Pawan said as the crowd got delirious.

"Chandrababu Naidu garu is not confident of winning in 2019. He is already thinking that Jagan Mohan Reddy garu will become CM. To oppose leaders like Jagan garu, only Pawan Kalyan and Jana Sena have the panache," he said.

"In 2007, someone almost tried to intimidate me to act in a movie. That day, I understood how powerful these people are to threaten someone like me for whom crores of fans will lay their lives," Pawan said, hitting out at factionalist politics. "We will crush you all," he thundered.

"I only know how to do things with full focus, whatever it may be. I can earn Rs. 100 Cr per annum in films. But I have entered politics and given up cinema because nobody is talking what they should. I felt that if someone doesn't take up the cudgels now, it would prove costly," the Jana Sena chief said.

"As you all know, I hail from a farmer's family. I want to know the Godavari districts completely, their culture, their problems, their demands, etc. I have been analyzing the problems faced by these districts threadbare," he added.

Pawan demanded the commissioning of local body elections. "Telugu Desam is clearly scared to face Panchayat elections. Jana Sena boldly demands elections. We will show our 'sattha'. It's because of the delay that specific funds that are due from the Centre are not coming. Anganwadi workers, DWACRA women, etc would have been properly paid with the funds," he said, lashing out at Nara Lokesh.

"If Telugu Desam really cares for OBCs, SCs, STs and women, they wouldn't postpone the elections any longer," Power Star added.

He took the example of a sarpanch who has produced wealth from waste. "His creative output has been sold by our Chief Minister to a foreign country," he alleged.

"Our party believes in Gram Swaraj. We will empower the sarpanchs if we come to power. Without decentralization, how is good governance and jobs possible?" he asked.

He promised that, if Jana Sena comes to power, it will meet the demands of government employees with respect to the contributory pension scheme.

Pawan focused on the burning issue of special status, demanding an all-party meeting. "I am not scared of even the Prime Minister. I only have respect for tall leaders. Let's resolve the issue once and for all," the Jana Sena leader said, driving home the message that the TDP is insincere.

He hit out at the "doublespeak" of Chandrababu Naidu. "In 2012, he went to Kakinada and asked the farmers to go against the police in defending their lands. Today, we all know what his stand on SEZs is. He promised 50,000 jobs at the Kakinada SEZs. Not even 500 jobs have been created so far. Why is everybody silent?" he thundered.

Pawan said that his party stands for free-market economics with a humane face. "We wonder why naxal movements are born. We wonder why people's movements are born. Even the PM has to think through. When capitalism is bereft of equity and humane face, naxalism will thrive," he said, mentioning the "injustice" over Vamsadhara project.

He warned the political leadership that disrespecting the culture and language of the tribals will prove costly. He suggested that it could lead to a separatist movement like the Telangana movement for statehood. He accused the Naidu government of micro-managing things in a wrong way. "You please focus on big things like achieving special status," Pawan said sarcastically.

"I see Allah, Jesus and Anjaneya Swamy as equal. Muslims are Indians like everyone else. Nobody has the right to say that they don't belong here, be it BJP, Hindu Vahini or some other organization," Pawan said, breaking into Hindi for a brief while. "I want to tell Muslim brothers and sisters that Jana Sena is with them," he stated.
