I am imprisoned: Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri today said that he is having to walk around with security personnel guarding him on the streets of India merely for speaking for Kashmiri Hindus through 'The Kashmir Files'. Taking to social media on Friday, the 'Tashkent Files' director stated that he is paying the price for exposing the truth about the Hindu genocide in Kashmir.

"The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. In a Hindu-majority country. Freedom of expression, ha! (sic)," the director wrote, putting out a video clip of himself guarded by gunmen.

He also used the word 'Fatwa' at the end of the tweet, implying that he faces a life threat from Islamists. On the day 'The Kashmir Files' was announced, a fundamentalist issued a fatwa on Vivek.

The director has been given Y-category security by the government for many months now, as he faces a threat to his life.

'The Vaccine War' is Vivek's next film. It will hit the screens in August 2023.
