Andrea Jeremiah must be on a cloud nine. This Friday (Nov 10), two of her films are releasing in Telugu. 'Detective' and 'Gruham' will arrive on the same day. In this interview, the versatile actress talks about her role in 'Detective', what kind of films she wants to do, and more.

What is 'Detective' like? What is your role in the movie?

It's a thrilling fare that has worked really well in Tamil. Director Mysskin has done a great job in making it a novel film. We are confident that the film will be a hit in Telugu as well.

I am playing a murderer in this movie. If you want to know her other dimensions, you got to watch 'Detective'. I have even learnt to ride a Harley Davidson bike for this movie.

Vishal is one of the most admired co-stars. How was it working with him?

It was a great experience teaming up with Vishal, who is also one of the producers. I must say that I have put extra efforts in pulling off this well-written role.

Since this is a dubbed movie, what is your assessment about the tastes of Telugu audiences?

Like Tamil audiences, the Telugus too are welcoming of novelty. The fact that 'Arjun Reddy', which had no regular songs, became such a big hit, says it all. In 'Detective', too, there are no songs that are distinct from the narration. In that way, too, this is a distinct film.

Incidentally, 'Gruham' (the dubbed version of 'Aval') will also be releasing on the same day as 'Detective'. What are your expectations?

I am excited about the release of 'Gruham'. 'Aval' is doing so well in Tamil. I can't wait for my films to hit the screens this Friday.

Tell us about 'Gruham' and what has really clicked for it.

You won't find any extraneous elements in this film. It's a pure horror film sans songs and such other props. The audiences are going to derive a unique experience for sure.

You have carved a niche for yourself after 'Vishwaroopam'. What kind of films do you want to do in future?

I want to do only such films which will help me grow as an actor. This has always been how I have done it. Stories and characters that help me evolve alone will be done. This year, the three movies I have done are different from one another.

Why have we not seen you in a straight Telugu film of late?

It's because I have not got an exciting offer here. Should I be offered the right kind of script, I will be doing a straight Telugu film. In any case, many of my Tamil films are releasing in Telugu as dubbed versions.
