A Vishal Chandrashekhar album

'Padi Padi Leche Manasu', whose music is out on Lahari Music, has music by Vishal Chandrasekhar.  Lyrics are by Krishna Kanth.  Armaan Malik, Sinduri Vishal, Anurag Kulkarni, Sid Sriram, Yazin Nazir, Rahul Sipligunj, MM Manasi and Sundhuri Vishal are the singers.

Padi Padi Leche Manasu

Singers:  Armaan Malik, Sinduri Vishal
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

Krishna Kanth comes equipped with soothing lyrics.  The line 'Pralayam lonu, pranayam thone, parichayamadige manasu' sounds majestic and romantic.

Vishal Chandrashekhar deploys the violin at the right juncture.  The use of other instruments, too, goes into making the song all the more exalting.  The tempo when the singers croon the title will go down as one of the best tunes of the year.

Armaan Malik does throw a hint of Sid Sriram but overall, he retains originality.  Sinduri Vishal complements her male counterpart well.

Singer: Anurag Kulkarni
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

Krishna Kanth fills the romantic song with poetic lines like 'Gundeke ibbandila takkunaa agenthala' and 'vaane pattindhi goduge'.  Anurag Kulkarni's vocals are full of life.  His voice reflects the early buoyance of blossoming of love.  The music director draws inspiration from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's song in 'Taare Zameen Par' in dishing out those musical interludes.

Hrudhayam Jaripe

Singer: Yazin Nazir
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

Krishna Kanth's lyrics are a combination of free verse and rhyme here.  'Marujanma saitham raasesi istha' is one of the best phrases out there.  Yazin Nazir's voice is lively; it throbs with mirth.  The music director does give a shot of a rehash here and there.  The playing out of the viola and veena is appealing.

Emai Poyave

Singer: Sid Sriram
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

The tragedy is tailor-made for Sid Sriram's emotional voice.  The poetry of the lyrics gets a match in the depth of his vocals.  Krishna Kanth aces with his heart-rending lines.

O My Lovely Lalana

Singer: Sundhuri Vishal
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

The Carnatic flavour is obvious right from the beginning.  Sundhuri Vishal gives the song her own spin to make it sound stylish even as the music director delivers the goods in a commercial format.  The sound is at its lilting best.

Urike Cheli Chilaka

Singers: Rahul Sipligunj, MM Manasi
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth

The folk flavour of the song comes with a sprightly self.  Although the music is inspired, the verve makes for the familiarity. Rahul Sipligunj has a pulsating voice.  Manasi complements the male singer's voice.

The album is an earnest package where melody takes over.  The right combination of singers and lyricists is a big plus.
