Early on Saturday, the Trailer for 'Paper Boy' was unveiled. While the love story is about class differences and how prosperity tries to paper over (pun unintended) purity, what caught our attention is the kissing shot between the lead pair. "This is the kiss of breath," the lover boy tells his girlfriend as she waits for her moment of bliss in a scenic backdrop.

Just a few days ago, kisses were all over in the Trailer for '24 Kisses'. Of all, this one stars Hebbah Patel! So, expect romance to be Hebbah-ised. With the very title screaming 'Kisses', can smooching shots be far behind? Only that, in this romantic drama, kissing scenes seem to be less about poetry and more about lust.

Last year, Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey were all over - on hoardings, in trailer, etc - kissing with romantic abandon. This year, Payal Rajput's character said in the trailer for 'RX 100' that romance should come with pain. Woah! The lip-locks and passionate kisses in this Ajay Bhupathi-directed movie created curiosity in the minds of young audiences. They rushed to the film on the first day to see how romantically painful the movie is.

In the recent past, leaked clippings of 'Geetha Govindam' suggested that there were some kissing moments in the film. It's another matter that the Deverakonda-Rashmika Mandanna lip-lock was edited out, probably keeping family audiences in mind.

The trailer for blockbuster 'Goodachari' too featured a few kissing shots between Adivi Sesh and Sobhita Dhulipala, who has come to be described as "hot and attractive" by Akkineni Nagarjuna.

In 'Ee Maya Peremito', you can expect several kisses. Kaavya Thapar is on a roll but she is no Payal Rajput, be warned.

In 'Vishwaroopam-2' teaser, Kamal Haasan and Pooja Kumar's bed frames made their mark.

The new trend in Tollywood is to use kissing shots/frames/scenes to promote one's movie through pre-release material. While some makers are preferring to be in-your-face about the "bold" content in their movies, others are keeping it subdued. In some cases, kissing scenes are on the posters, while in others they are seen only in Teaser/Trailer. In other cases, they are not promoted at all. For example, the purely emotion-driven kiss between Ram Charan and Samantha in Rangasthalam was a pleasant surprise in the movie which the film's promo videos didn't show.

Sometimes, kisses can help in creating a big buzz around a movie. They can ensure healthy openings at the box-office. However, the audience has to feel that a film is not just about intimate romance. And they shouldn't see a movie as a soft-porn outing. If it's one or if they think it's one, they would rather watch better stuff on their smart phone.
