Pearl Mackie (Bill), Matt Lucas (Nardole), Michelle Gomez (Missy) were joined by Capaldi and Moffat and the show`s writer Mark Gatiss in Hall H for a panel to bid goodbye to their stint on the BBC America series, Doctor Who.

Many media outlets and online fans complained that the female lead casting in the hit-series was a mistake and should have cast a male one.

However, the team of Doctor Who brushed off these sexist comments in a pretty harsh way.

“There have been so many press articles about a backlash among the Doctor Who fandom about casting a female Doctor” Moffat explains

“There has been no backlash at all. The story of the moment is that the notionally conservative Doctor Who fandom has utterly embraced that change completely. Eighty-percent approval on social media, not that I check these things obsessively. So many people wanting to pretend there is a problem. There isn't. It's been incredibly progressive and enlightened and that's what really happened. I wish every other journalist who is writing the alternative would shut the hell up.” Moffat said

Chris Hardwick, the moderator of the show made it pretty clear that he isn`t here to take the bullshit against women.

He called out “anyone complaining about Whittaker's casting is an asshole and not a real fan of the show if you don't accept this." Followed by the packed arena filled with fans of the show cheering and clapping for his statements.

“I think Jodie is going to be amazing. I spoke to her the other day and she's so full of excitement and passion about the show. It's thrilling to know it's in the hands of someone who cares for it deeply and is so excited about it. So she's a great choice for it” Capaldi says.

Doctor Who`s new season is going to be released this Christmas!
