Former cricketer and BJP MP candidate Gautam Gambhir has courted controversy after the AAP today alleged that he has circulated a sexist and offensive letter on his AAP rival Atishi in East Delhi, which will go to polls on Sunday.

Holding a press conference on Thursday, Atishi broke down while making allegations against Gambhir. She had tears in her eyes as she said that the women in East Delhi are not safe because of the likes of Gambhir.

Fielding the allegations, Gambhir took to Twitter to say that he didn't circulate any letter against his rival. "My Challenge no.2 Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi. I declare that if it's proven that I did it, I will withdraw my candidature right now. If not, will you quit politics?" he asked.

He also described the Delhi Chief Minister as "filth".
