Rahul concedes defeat in Amethi before counting ends!

Smriti Irani has defeated her Congress rival Rahul Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi. The Congress chief has congratulated the BJP candidate. "I congratulate Smriti Irani ji on the victory. I hope she will move ahead with love," RaGa said.

What is curious is that 3 lakh votes were yet to be counted in Amethi when RaGa conceded the defeat. Maybe, he should have waited for the final verdict to come before congratulating his rival.

Amethi has been a stronghold of Congress party for 52 years. It lost just twice in these five decades.

Meanwhile, Rahul is set to win from Wayanad in Kerala with a majority of 8 lakh votes. This is one of the biggest margins ever.
